Proposed: Considering the environmental impact of decisions and actions
Rationale: Simplicity!
Final: To consider the impact of decisions and actions upon the environment.
This blog is for exclusive use of the MVF Development Teams of the Minessence Group to define/re-define Value (& Key-Value) Labels, Descriptors & Value-Laden Statements
Like the simplicity...Perhaps To consider?
ReplyDeleteI agree with the simplicity but would stick with the "on the environment" phrasing rather than "environmental impact" somehow it makes the environment the important subject
ReplyDelete"To consider the impact of decisions and actions upon the environment."
I'll go with Jackies' version
ReplyDeleteRe-name / re-purpose descriptor as “Environmental Concern” to recognise the rise of this concern to prominence in day to day discourse and decision making then re-locate to the Emerging Order cluster: Personal advocacy and local action for a sustainable environment and the careful use and conservation of natural resources.
ReplyDeleteIt makes make sense to have an enviromentalvalue in the Emerging Order. But not this one. It is all about practical activities in the Organisational Cluster such as recycling. The one in the emerging order I believe should be about positive action in relation to systemic change - see https://www.principlestoliveby.education/2011/02/prosperity-without-growth.html
ReplyDeleteHappy to leave this one here and add a new one to the Emerging Order cluster as a Goal value. Here is the draft descriptor for this new value : Environmental Concern / Advocacy value: “Personal advocacy, local action and support for a sustainable environment, requiring careful use and conservation of natural resources.”
ReplyDeleteWith regard to Environmental Responsibility I like the descriptor as shown above "To consider the impact of decisions and actions upon the environment." for this value in this cluster. This would fit well into the Org cluster and worldview.
In recent reports (EOV+'s, FAVI's) and on Mission Control the descriptor is still shown as "Taking responsibility for compliance with environmental regulations". Could we replace that with "To consider the impact of decisions and actions upon the environment."?
Small further word smithing endorsed by at recent environmental activist workshop - To consider the impact of my decisions and actions upon the environment - that makes this a little more personal and local?
