Proposed: To devote yourself to and be accepted by your family. To have a sense of "home".
Rationale: Is a place to call home physical? Can it relate to "home is where the heart is"??
Final: Having a place or sense of home. To be devoted to people you consider family and to experience belonging and acceptance.
I like “have a sense of home” and agree people’s idea of what that means is different. I am thinking people may also have a different understanding of family that we maybe should consider.
ReplyDeleteSuggestion: To experience a sense of belonging to a family where you feel mutual concern and acceptance and feel “at home”.
The "devoting yourself" has always been an important part of this descriptor for me - I like the "sense of/feel at home".
ReplyDeleteSuggestion: To devote yourself to and be accepted by your family with whom you feel "at home".
Which takes home away from a physical place as I agree with Karynne that it doesn't have to be that.
the existing descriptor gives two ‘reasons’ for selecting this value devotion to and concern for. Do we need to keep these ‘reasons’ as well as accommodating both a physical home and sense of home?
ReplyDeleteif we need the ‘reasons’ my suggestion is
Being devoted to or concerned about, your family. Having a place or sense of ‘home’ and experience belonging to and or acceptance by your family
If we don’t need the ‘reasons’ my suggestion is
Having a place or sense of ‘home’ by experiencing belonging to and or acceptance by your family
Having a place or sense of ‘home’ and experience belonging to and or acceptance by family
