Suggestion: (1) Replace transcendence with Trans-Formation (2) replace it with Co-creation
Reason: (1) Transcendence connotes very esoteric concepts. Trans-Formation would direct people's focus on transitioning from one formation to another. (2) on the other hand, Co-creation draws on the collegial nature of this cluster.

New Title: Global Transformation Old Label: Transcendence
I like the existing label because as we have discussed, this group of values is for a very distinct few (not the masses) who will understand the word. Transcendence seems to follow wisdom more naturally than co-creation, which seems to fit more with Collaboration in my mind.
ReplyDeleteI do not recommend creating a "new" word...Trans-Formation
Looking at the values in the cluster they are not really about Transcendence rather about global transformation of some form.
ReplyDeleteSuggest maybye Global Equity?
New Cluster Title: Global Consciousness
ReplyDeleteI like Global Consciousness
ReplyDeletePlease see this essay on "Global Consciousness" I believe it makes a good case for using this term as the Cluster title. Other comments?

Interesting article, however, it comes from the same false canonical space as other models which equate evolution with progress -- i.e. it says, "consciousness is the most evolved mechanism for increasing autonomy in a system..."
ReplyDeleteI like the term “Global Consciousness” and think most people will interpret the term to mean the ability of a person to identify with humanity as a whole and to live and act accordingly, as the article suggests for “Individual Global Consciousness”.
ReplyDeleteIs that the intention?
The term “Collective Global Consciousness” may be even more esoteric than the term “Transcendence”.
I have had a quick look at the article and must confess quite quickly got lost. My dictionary says to transcend is to pass or lie beyond the range or limit of (something) to rise above, to surmount. Because these values always lie in Vision I have always regarded them as distant beacons that go beyond the here and now and function outside of arbitary limits..... for those reasosn the existing term is one I would be happy to keep.
ReplyDeleteI don't disagree with Global Consciousness but I do still like Transcendence.
We could use Global Transformation as the cluster title too. It's less esoteric and reflects the values in the cluster.
