Existing online: To be in command. To exercise specific administrative functions and tasks in a business or institution, e.g. finance, recruitment, etc.
Proposed: To be in command. To exercise specific administrative or management functions and tasks in a busines or institution, e.g. finance, production, recruitment, etc.
Rationale: Added 'management" to expand business applicability as well as another example - 'production.'
Final: To exercise administrative and/or management functions and tasks.
No real strong feelings on this one except that "institution" has negative associations in the UK linked to mental health facilities so "organisation" would be better if possible
ReplyDeleteSame in Australia. That's why we changed the name of the institutional cluster of values to the organisational cluster
ReplyDeleteSo the word organization could substitute?
ReplyDeleteI'd suggest
ReplyDelete"To exercise specific administrative or management functions and tasks in an organisation e.g. finance, production, recruitment,"
I've dropped "to be in command" as for me, with the potential new descriptor, it is adding another/different sense to the value.
I think we should leave examples out of the descriptors -- if we do it for one we should do it for all. I suggest we create a separate database of examples which can be acessed as required.
ReplyDeleteDescriptor could then be: "To enjoy engaging in administrative/management activities."
Alternatively: "To be passionate about maintaining order in the workplace through administration and management activities."
