26. Rationality

Existing online: To think logically and reasonably using a formal framework for analysis. To exercise reason before emotion.

Proposed: (Rationality or Reason ) To think formally, logically and analytically.

Rationale: Simpler; no need for the word Criteria in the label. May not need to address a preference of reason over emotion in the descriptor.

Final: To think formally, logically and analytically, preferring reason to emotion.

  1. suggestion:
to think logically and objectively and use established frameworks
    for analysis

    rationale:
still enables the 'reason before emotion'sentence to be deleted while the use of 'established frameworks for analysis' provides an additional part of the description which can help people connect with this value.

  2. Rationality as the label seems to compliment the potential descriptors more than Reason

  3. How does fuzzy logic fit within this this descriptor if we use "objective" in the descriptor? I think reasonably is better than objectively as a choice of words.

Perhaps just: To think logically using established rational frameworks?
