8. Being Liked

Existing online: To experience friendly feelings from your peers.

Proposed: The desire to experience friendly feelings from your peers.

Rationale: I believe adding 'desire' here may help to convey a bit more about the motivating energy of this value

Final: To be liked by others.

  1. Not sure i agree about adding "the desire". If one selected the value as important, can we assume it is a desired experience?

  2. would the level of 'desire' be indicated by the priority placed on the value? how about:
"experiencing friendly feelings from your peers."

  3. I agree with Rona Lynn and Dougal's comments about desire. Not sure the feeling modality should be there. Not everyone makes decisions based on feelings. Some people have a preference for using rational analysis to come to conclusions. This is F-T continnuum of Myers-Briggs (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myers-Briggs_Type_Indicator#Functions_.28S-N_and_T-F.29).

    Perhaps the descriptor should be:
"To be liked by others." or "To be a likeable person."
